Hummingbirds are beginning to return from their wintering grounds, and they will be making stopovers in areas that provide the food, water, and shelter that they need for energy, nesting, and brood raising.
With over a dozen species that breed in the continental US, hummingbirds can be found just about everywhere! These tiny birds can fly backwards and forwards at incredible speeds, and beat their wings at a blurry 40-80 times per second. Because they can depart as quickly as they arrive, its a real treat to be able to see them as regular visitors in a yard or garden.
Hummingbirds feed on insects and flower nectar, and may eat 1-2 times their weight in nectar every day! They have been known to visit hummingbird feeders as frequently as every 10 minutes in order to sustain their high-calorie needs. In summer, nectar may need to be changed every 2-3 days because weather is hotter and bacteria tends to grow more quickly. After discarding old nectar, feeders can be sanitized in a 50/50 solution of white vinegar and hot water, and scrubbed with a brush to remove any debris and bacteria. An internet search for hummingbird garden along with a particular state will yield many local flower results.
Using several feeders will ensure that hummingbirds will visit more often. It will also keep one hummingbird from chasing others away and dominating the feeders; they cant reign over feeders out of their sight.

I am absolutely thrilled to be working with Summit Racing on this project, Rutledge explained. Thats a big deal in my book.
Were excited to be a part of this project, said Jeff Winters, Summit Racing Chief Marketing Officer. Rutledge Wood is a true motorsports enthusiast who has owned over 55 cars and trucks, including the 1968 Dodge Charger that was Kyle Pettys high school ride. If anybody can make a Chevy step van cool, its Rutledge.
That Chevy van is something Wood has wanted since his college days.
I used to pass a van just like this one all the time when I was at the University of Georgia, He recalled. The day I went to inquire about it, it was gone. So when I found this one, I knew I had to have it.
Mike Karbowski and the team at American Resto Mods began working on the Chevy in late 2012. The goal was to build something cool with big horsepower, but also make it reliable and comfortable for long distance drives like the Power Tour.
We replaced the stock frame with one from a 1999 Chevy 2500 HD pickup, said Karbowski. We modified the frame to fit the vans wheelbase and C-notched it in back to accommodate a rear axle flip kit. We did a lot of nipping and tucking to get the van body to fit over the frame, but everything fits and we have modern suspension and brakes as a bonus.

We think that we are offering a great service right now, but we know that we can always do better, a company spokesman said. By doing an honest review of where we are now, we can figure out where we should be going in the future.
The review will start out by seeking customer feedback at every interaction point and reviewing the results, the company states.
With an honest review of customer feedback, we expect to be able to see what we are doing right and what we could be doing better, the spokesman said. We will have staff whose only task will be to review all of the feedback as it comes in.
Next, the company will see if the review shows information that should be included in their reports but isn’t, and let them know what information they are providing that their customers are not interested in.
After that, we’ll review our customer service standards, the spokesman said. By paying close attention to how customer service is working, we may find ways to improve the way we deal with our customers when they have questions and concerns.
The final part of the review will be to look at how management handles personnel and any issues that arise.
Whether a company is doing its best is not just based on their products and front line workers, it’s also based on how management reacts on a day-to-day basis, the spokesman said. We are not afraid of an honest review of how we are doing things. In fact, we welcome the review so that we can do things better.
The spokesman said he expected the review to take roughly three months, and the results will be made available at that time.
